1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not hold official criminal records and cannot retrieve a file, perform an official check, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

The site directs readers to the Broome County Sheriff's Records Division, the court that heard a case, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. New York's Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, applies to records requests made to public agencies, while Executive Law §837(6) governs DCJS criminal-history dissemination through authorized channels. Neither law makes this private site the custodian of an official record.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, a visitor agrees not to:

• Use bots, scraping software, or any other automated collection tool against the pages
• Violate a federal, state, or local law through use of the website
• Stalk, threaten, or harass a person using information found here
• Use site content in a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
• Attempt unauthorized entry into the site's systems
• Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from this website or a linked service to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against another person; some misuse may also be criminal. The restriction is especially important for New York State Sex Offender Registry information. Correction Law Article 6-C controls registry dissemination, and registry information exists for lawful public-safety awareness, not harassment, vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination. New York sealing laws, including Criminal Procedure Law §160.50, also prevent ordinary public access to covered records.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners and this website do not provide a service designed to screen applicants, evaluate rental applications, set insurance rates, or assess credit. A visitor must not use information from this site or a linked tool to:

• Assess credit or set an insurance premium
• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
• Carry out any other activity governed by the FCRA

A person who needs a check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must use a legally compliant provider and the official process applicable to that purpose. DCJS Personal Record Review is a separate fingerprint-based process for reviewing one's own New York criminal history.

5. No Legal Advice

The website provides information, not legal advice. Although it explains general Broome County record procedures, it cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or New York record-sealing rule applies to a particular matter. Seek advice from a licensed New York attorney.

6. No Warranties

All site content is supplied "as is." We make no guarantee that:

• A partner search result is complete or correct
• The website will operate without interruption
• Every page is free from bugs, mistakes, or security weaknesses
• Information is accurate, complete, and current at all times

Charges may be filed, dismissed, amended, or sealed, and New York Clean Slate implementation can change public availability. Updates may therefore lag. Site content is never an official statement from a court, sheriff, DCJS, or another government agency.

Broome County Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, graphics, logos, and code. No one may reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative work from that material without prior written permission.

To the greatest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of this website, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

New York State law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in New York.

We may restrict or terminate access to the website at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be modified only to the extent required for enforcement.
